Vaughan Road is where we began — two sisters, Tereina and Hayes, born in Rotorua, raised in Sydney, but always grounded in our Te Arawa whakapapa (Tūhourangi, Ngāti Whakaue, Tapuika).
This brand has been a long time coming. After years of dreaming, second-guessing, and putting it off, we finally backed ourselves and built Vaughan Road — a space to reclaim, remember, and rep our identity. A space for Māori to be loud, proud, funny, fierce, and free.
Growing up in Australia meant growing up away from the marae, the reo, the stories, and the whenua. That disconnection hurt — but it also made us determined. Determined to learn, to unlearn, to reconnect. Determined to create something that celebrates what it means to be Māori — in all its forms.
Vaughan Road is our tribute to the place we grew up. It's a love letter to our people. It's a reminder that you don’t have to be fluent, or living back home, or fully "in the know" to be enough. You’re Māori — that’s your starting point.
Through tees, slogans, and cultural references only we would get, we’re here to uplift, to laugh, to educate, and to hold space for each other. Whether you’re back home or across the ditch — this is for you.
Celebrating being Māori. always.
